Roelof Wijtsma
Roelof Wijtsma (Bombay, 1967) is a comic book artist and illustrator. He grew up in Chile and attended the Minerva Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen. Wijtsma is the author of Doolhof van Eeden (Sherpa 2014), a symbolist graphic novel in art nouveau style about a return trip to Paradise. He is currently working on De Dag der Kleine Dingen (The Day of Small Things), a magical-realistic road comic set against the backdrop of the Chilean coup in 1973. He also makes (historical) adventure comics, football comics, (digital) school posters and book illustrations. For publisher Regaad he drew a Frisian comic version of Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days; In wrâldreis yn 80 dagen (Regaad 2016).
