Loneliness is a difficult subject to discuss. It hurts, makes you anxious, affects your health and it is very personal. Under the title \u2018Soms word ik wakker\u2019 (sometimes I wake up) curator Alie Lucas and writer Adwin de Kluyver made a literary online exhibition about loneliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The online visitor is given a glimpse into the life and the head of various lonely characters, through a series of bedside tables and (Dutch) short stories. The interim texts challenge the audience to think about their own loneliness and that of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adwin de Kluyver wrote the short stories for the exhibition<\/a>. In 2019, Spectrum Publishers published his novel Het gedroomde Noorden – een atlas<\/em>, which was nominated for the Jan Wolkers Prize. At the end of 2015 he made his debut with\u00a0Terug uit de Witte Hel<\/em> (publisher: Balans).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The online exhibition was commissioned by ZuidOostZorg and was previously shown as a physical exhibition in the gallery of S\u00fbnenz in Drachten.
