The Po\u00ebzieroute Leeuwarden now has an webapp. There will be a launch celebration on Friday 5 November with an afternoon devoted to street poetry, including a workshop on street poetry by literary scholar Kila van der Starre. Register quickly (for free)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

New website and app<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The webapp is part of the renewed website of the Poezieroute Leeuwarden, which was commissioned by Stichting
Po\u00ebzietableaus Leeuwarden and Leeuwarden UNESCO City of Literature in the past year. The app was developed by BW H Designers and made possible by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Frysl\u00e2n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n


The more than sixty poems on tile panels in the streets of Leeuwarden have been recorded for the webapp by actors Tamara Schoppert and Raymond Muller. Now visually impaired people can listen to the lyrics. For those who are unable to walk the route due to a physical disability, 360-degree images have been made for each poem, so that the route can also be viewed at locations other than the streets of Leeuwarden. In addition, the webapp features English translations of the poems, as well as Dutch translations of the Frisian poems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Street poetry workshop & Lecture 5 November
<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate the arrival of the webapp, the afternoon of Friday 5 November is all about street poetry, including a workshop, lecture, conversation, and poems in Theater de Bres, located at Schoolstraat 4 in Leeuwarden.

You are most welcome! The entrance is free, but space is limited. So, register by e-mail<\/a> no later than November 1. Indicate in your e-mail which program components you would like to attend. We’ll let you know if that is possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
